@summoner-starlight, i finished playing him in like, early 2012? i’d been on tumblr for less than a year and didn’t have a very large exalted friend base (i think mostly… frostmantle and nightmarework, and i was otherwise mostly Homestucking at the time) so a lot of the art i did for him was on dA and TFS instead and i haven’t had much new material for him since. he showed up in 2nd Gen game since i was playing his daughter. i still requested him in trades and commissions for a long time after since he was Extremely Formative in making me the moon birb i am today (and also genderwise but we did not have that in common).
i don’t do as much with him now but i’m looking forward to seeing if it’ll be viable to write him in 3rd, since his whole schtick was Extremely 2nd Edition and i think he’d actually get a lot more powerwise now (and hopefully new Lunar book will have a good ol pile of Mental Charms to give him)
Reference pic mixed with a draw the squad meme for the Mighty Four! From top to bottom we have;
Sparrow Keens for the Rain the Night caste Scales of the Viper Blossom the Dawn caste Sibonakaliso of Zerzu Biqtis the Twilight caste Masego of Oba the Zenith caste
Sparrow has 5 (and often 6) in appearance I have no idea how to properly convey that *_*
This is still pretty much a rough sketch but if I know myself I will probably never truly finish this so upp on the art blog it goes!
Your lucky number for today is 12. Why 12? Because you have 12 whole days remaining to make a Kickstarter pledge to An Atlas of the Horizons, a new tabletop roleplaying game written and developed by my friend @tabletop-til-you-drop and illustrated by my sister @gottachasepigeons (also on Twitter)!!
A project five years in the making, An Atlas of the Horizons is a fairy-tale-esque fantasy ttRPG set in a world on the cusp of a cultural and technological renaissance. The gods of Mayagispar have withdrawn from the mortal world, filling their sanctuaries with perilous traps and monstrous guardians; the moon has fallen from the sky in pieces, and its mountainous shards now litter the land. Now, their chosen people stand – and flourish – alone. They debate new forms of government and law, set their genius to the creation of marvelous machines, and trade and travel untrammeled by the confines of the vanished gods’ Decree of Isolation.
Armored knights square off against pistol-wielding ne’er-do-wells. Magi fan their internal magic to produce powerful spells, but must be careful not to consume themselves in the flame. Brilliant machinists construct never-before-seen wonders of engineering in a world populated with staunch traditionalists, cunning witches, political visionaries, and talking animals.
To the north, a shadowy warlord hammers free tribes into a new empire; in the deserts of Helenis, naturalists and explorers grapple with the strange, alien flora and fauna of the fallen moon-shards.
Atlas’ dice-based resolution system allows for granular resolution of actions while being structured to naturally lend itself to longer, character-driven narrative arcs. The game’s tone is optimistic and humanistic, rather than gritty and grim. Characters strive against each other with the strength of their convictions, seeking to realize their visions for the shape this new age will take. Rather than slaying the monster of the week, stories in An Atlas of the Horizons may deal with voyages to strange lands, revolutions and the birth of new nations, and the creation of marvels of art and science.
This Kickstarter is for the printing and publishing of the book, the text and rules engine already being complete. An Atlas of the Horizons is planned to be a 6″x9″ full-color paperback; if sufficient funding goals are reached, all physical copies will be automatically upgraded to hardcovers at no additional cost to backers.
Like I said, there’s just 12 days left to back this Kickstarter (it’s about 2/3rds funded right now), so you all should get on it!! A PDF copy of the final book (over 200 pages) is only $9, so you don’t exactly have to break the bank to get some bang for your buck. An Atlas of the Horizons also has a Facebook page here with more details about the game engine and setting. The writer also recently did a public Q&A here, answering more questions about the game. This game looks fun, polished, and uplifting, and I highly encourage everyone to give it a look.
At long last, she had found it. It had taken eons of searching but there was no mistaking the massive crystalline structure in front of her. She let her body materialize completely from the shadows and took in the sights with a true sense of awe. The crystals formed a palace of sorts, whole and round and protected. It sat alone, floating in an endless void. Pandora smiled and slunk back into the darkness.
Tabor woke up in a cold sweat. He rolled over and checked his alarm clock, relieved to find he hadn’t overslept. He had an hour or so that he could sleep if he wanted, but while the details of the nightmare he had awoken from were fading fast, the feeling of dread they had brought with still burned. His body felt heavy and exhausted. Had he even slept at all? He closed his eyes.
“It’s Tuesday,” he muttered. He stretched his jaw and forced a yawn. His mouth felt sticky. He sighed. “Mrow,” called Bruiser from the other side of the bedroom door. Tabor nodded. “Tuesday,” he said again. He let himself fall back asleep.
