All this talk of real housewives is just like…

AU where Marian exalted as a DB/stayed on the blessed Isle and became a ruthless business lady and she still marries pop-idol gentle vintner V’neef Yuri and they’re just on the show? And it’s just very comical to me?

Epilogue: A Hard Truth

Marian picked a direction and started
walking. She didn’t care where she was going and she certainly didn’t
care what anyone else thought. They didn’t matter, at least not right
now.

The last day alone had been a lot to
process. Time blended together; nothing felt like it mattered. The
bloodstains on her clothes certainly didn’t.

Maybe she didn’t either.

It certainly didn’t feel like it. All
of the greatest people in Creations history was really a single
person, so why did anyone else matter? But at the same time, what a
torturous existence. Marian had a hard enough time with Sherwood’s
memories; she couldn’t imagine so many others. But all that separated
Merela, the Empress, and so many others from herself was that
eventually they remembered who they had once been. And if that was
the case, how could she have any sense of who she was? Even without
memories, old doubts had crept up into Marian’s head. Who was she
really? Should we be held to the responsibilities and the actions of
our pasts selves whether we remember or not?

It was too much. It would always be too
much.

She felt bad for the Empress, reliving
so many lives seemed like torture; the expectations felt like
punishment, at least to Marian. She wasn’t sure if she felt worse
about that, or about wishing that she could die and stay dead. That
perhaps she could find real peace and Creation could find a new way
to deal with the chaos that threatened it at every turn.

It felt unwise to rely on a single
soul. It felt unfair to anyone who earned their power and control in
the meantime.

She couldn’t make sense of her
feelings. Jealousy? Envy? Guilt? Fear? Anger? Sorrow? She wasn’t sure
if it mattered. She wasn’t sure if that made her feel worse or
better. Her stomach turned into a mass of knots. She wanted to lean
over in the snow and vomit, but she couldn’t bring herself to do it.

She didn’t know what she wanted
anymore. She felt used and lied to. She felt broken and tired.

She wanted the best for her family, but
she no longer understood what that meant.

“This is stupid,” she finally said
to herself.

Wow I didn’t know Venus was that into puns but that’s seriously amazing.

The pun was my idea.

Venus’ reasoning for handling Marian’s destiny as she did is actually much more heartwarming?

Other members of the party, in a sense, lost parts of their destinies to create their new power (if I was reading everything right).

Isao, our Eclipse, had the many endings his hands would have brought (from men to tyrannies to bloodshed)  woven into gloves so that he may use their potential to bring down the Morrigan.

Knott, the Dawn, had the fate of journeys never traveled woven into his wife (who is also his mount and a horse/dragon thing) to make her the swiftest being within Creation; perhaps so that the Morrigan might not see them coming.

But Venus knew that Marian would die a hundred times over before losing a love. Her family, her children, her beloveds. All of the heartache and the devotion. All of the hope and support. So Venus wove all of that back into Marian herself. To add to her strength; so that she would lose nothing and still draw power from beyond herself.

And this is all after helping Marian use True Love’s Kiss to keep Discord (antagonist turned ally by virtue of accidental romantic entanglement) from being possessed by the Morrigan and shredding the party.

Tonight In Exalted

Knowing that the party will need to be more powerful to defeat “The Morrigan”, the Unconquered Sun brings the party before the Maidens to have their destinies woven into powerful boons.

Venus weaves Marian’s love into knots about her arm. The fate strings create layers over the glass and the arm slowly transforms into diamond. The arm’s power is now drawn from righteous anger in defense of what Marian loves.

True Loves Fist.

Tonight in Exalted

summoner-starlight:

An evil Lunar-Nightmare lady sends out crazy shadow tendrils that infect Lunars on the field.

Sabriel manages to pacify one of these lunars with an amazing rendition of a Primordial lullaby. Everyone is left in awe

Update: Marian manages to save Discord (everyone’s favorite Lunar-y Infernal Anti-Hero) from the spooky lunar fate with True Love’s Kiss ((because Venus and Marian are tight and Marian can say a prayer like the best of them))

Marian’s actually super worried about her family in this whole war business. Like, quite frankly, if she sees her sister she’s going to pull her into a big hug in the middle of everyone. And her whole thought process right now is just:

“Is Emily Okay? Where are Mom and my sister? Is V’neef/Ejava/Mnemon alright? Did any of my lovers do something stupid and decide to jump in on this? Did either of my kids decide to be really stupid and jump in on this? Is Ledaal Kes okay? Where the HELL IS JUNKO FFS?”

and then just

“I’m going to slaughter the Morrigan.”
