Episode 100 of ponies features several of my favorite background characters, two of whom are confirmed for having delightful voices; including one muffin loving mare with a heart of gold (but four left hooves)

I’ve never been more excited for anything

Thinking about ponies:

I feel like, in any episode where she isn’t the main focus, that Pinkie Pie is an exceptionally one dimensional character?
She has a lot of characterization in her episodes but outside of that she feels incredibly flat, and often times it feels like her growth as a character is ignored or cast aside. In her episodes she has a wide range of emotions and thoughts and feelings that impact her decisions, but in other episodes she feels like a very boiled down version of herself; almost seriously no different than any of the weird Pinkie Copies she made.

This has become more apparent as other characters like Twilight and Fluttershy have grown immensely and it shows. Fluttershy’s self confidence has sky rocketed and she has been pushing herself to tell her friends when she takes an issue with something.
Twilight’s growth has been very apparent throughout the series, and honestly needs little explaining.

Even Rarity’s growth shows more than Pinkie’s, and that’s saying something considering how much issue I take with Rarity.

I just wish the writers were more consistent with their portrayal of Pinkie Pie so I only have to worry about what feels like blatant mischaracterization in fanworks.

Let’s see…

Amber Angel is a Unicorn with a really abstract cutie mark that indicates Magic is her special talent; specifically dark magic (maybe a skull? idk). She would end up being a show antagonist (a very pretty show antagonist who learns to value her friendship with Scarlet and OMG feels why)

Scarlet Scamp is a pegasus with a spear surrounded by hearts as her cutie mark. She keeps Amber out of trouble (sometimes) and Amber does the same for her.

Both MG ponies are colored appropriately for their color scheme in DW

Void is a unicorn (or perhaps a zebra) with another really abstract magic cutie mark (seriously, if your talent is magic the mark is always rather strange looking). She hangs out with Grognak, who I’m pretty sure is a Diamond Dog she managed to befriend.

Shylian is an earth pony (maybe a deer, but I don’t know a lot about the deer) with a bow for a cutie mark, likely with some nature symbolism.

And Exalted

I already talked about Marian

Sabriel is another broad earth pony (maybe a unicorn actually) with some sort of shield or armored cutie mark, likely with heart and water symbolism.

Knott could be any of the three races but his mark is a hammer crossed with a lance. He’s likely a member of some important Guard, though not likely the actual Royal guard.

Danzig is a unicorn with a wrench and a cog. He lives somewhere like Apploosa or Dodge Junction.

Jin is a scrawny pegasus with an eyebrow something like sunglasses or something? IDK?

Ellodie is a tiny pink Unicorn with some sort of heart imagery for hers. She’s related to one of the princess somehow.

Discord….let’s be real he’s a crossover character from the show.

Marsilia is either a unicorn or a changeling. Her cutie mark would be a pair of crowns, one green and one gold. She’s very angry, all the time.

Felicity is an earth pony with a tree for a cutie mark.

And idk about all the lunars but they all have their spirit animal as pets. This means Flash somehow has a baby dragon.

I like to think about Pony versions of my OCs because cutie mark magic is fascinating to me and it’s interesting to think about my characters’ talents and what makes them who they are.

Hope Forged in Flame would be an earth pony with a shield as her cutie mark; but the shield would partially be red hot. She’s a strong farm pony from a cold climate who discovered her calling was not at home on the farm but out as a guardian. She dreams of being important enough to be a royal guard, but was tasked by some important power to act as an escort to a scrawny unicorn around Equestria (and beyond?).

Marian’s either a Crystal Pony or a Unicorn (I believe those are mutually exclusive?) whose cutie mark is something based in business/strategy. She’s a classy city pony who has a heart of gold (perhaps figuratively and literally hidden about somewhere). 

TBH I was mostly just thinking about Hope as a pony
