What were your childhood favorite books that no one else seems to know? Not Harry Potter or Percy Jackson, but the book no one else has ever heard of. Mine is Princess from Another Planet.

The Tales Of Chrestomanci

This is driving me bonkers. There was a book that I almost stole in fifth grade. We had a little ‘library’ shelf in our class; we could pick one book to keep in our desk to read during free time. There was a book I found that had a really strong princess character. I loved that book. I kept it for a month and kept reading parts over. A classmate asked if she could read it when I was done, and I lied. I kept saying I wasn’t done with it and kept it for another month and only reluctantly returned it at the end of school because stealing is bad.
I loved that book so damn much and I can’t for the life of me remember what is was.

The Oran Trilogy (originally the Queens’ Quarter Series) by Midori Snyder. God I love these books.

The Bears’ House by Marilyn Sachs and

Die Söhne der großen Bärin by Liselotte Welskopf-Henrich (the link is to the Wikipedia entry about the movie since I can’t find any English language links for information about the books.)

I Road a Horse of Milk White Jade by Diane Wilson and Star Split by Kathryn Lasky.

there’s one even i can’t remember–it was about a kid (i can’t even remember their gender) getting dumped in the desert and the only reason they survive is because they find a six pack (which may or may not have had all six) of coke

Bartlett and the Ice Voyage by Odo Hirsch, Caddie Woodlawn by Carol Ryrie Brink, Fire and Hemlock by Diana Wynne Jones, Squashed by Joan Bauer. EVERYTHING by Tamora Pierce.

Tailchaser’s Song was a really interesting novel that had great characters and worldbuilding, and is one of the few books I went back to read again. Plus it was about cats. I never read the Warrior Cats series, but I’m sure folks who like that would also like Tailchaser’s Song.

Gathering Blue by Lois Lowry! And for some reason Watership Down by Richard Adams.

The Green Rider Series i read the first two books back to back until they fell apart

Doctor Franklin’s Island and the Maximum Ride Series

I liked books about kids who had been through traumatizing genetic experimentation I guess?

Is it sick of me
To need control of you
Is it sick to make
You beg the way I do
Is it sick of me
To want you crawling on your knees

A troll I’ve never ever drawn before now, Puppet Master. She’s a horrible woman, but I love her as an antagonist.

I spent a literal year and a half on this so if you could kindly reblog it if you like it I’d appreciate it. You don’t gotta though if you don’t wanna, just asking if you would if you can.

THE Cynis arrives and is promptly ushered to bed by Sabriel after a diagnosis of exhaustion.

A Fae Lord and his hoard of Flame Hounds happens to be tracking down one of our NPCs. He shows up and sniffs us out, initiating a battle by crippling Marian’s non-combat arm: Cue the release of the Monster.

Current Damage: 37
Motes left: 4

Better make this good…

Okay but you werent the one who got hit on…

Also being called “prey” when you are part of the being the CREATED the concept of “predator vs prey” is just so…

No she hit on me last time; sort of (rather, I think she wanted to hit on me but she didn’t want it to be weird and we were both smashed).

Also yeah that’s gotta smart

@summoner-starlight always has a nice comment on my stuff so I wanted to draw her Night Caste Marian for her to show my appreciation ❤

Nova if you want to please fill in a bunch of Marian facts below that would be great, I don’t know enough about her

Things to know about Marian AKA Cynis Mayumi

  • She’s a neomah born child of the Realm and eldest of three siblings
  • She’s 5 feet tall, Legendary appearance, and took every class in the Spiral that she could possibly take in order to put off getting married
  • She just turned 39 years old in Campaign, which I think makes her the second oldest Party Member (she married at age 38)
  • She has Past Lives 5/Throwback 5 so she has horrendous memories of her life as my previous character, Sherwood, and occasionally hates her gender-fluid romantic interest for stupid reasons because of the Throwback
  • She has 6 partners and two children (with 2 more children on the way and 3 more planned)
  • Due to an oversight, she has the equivalent of Resources 6 and she uses her money to build and maintain the capital of the Crystal Empire and build extreme projects (and hand out money to ever sob story on the street)
  • She learned Infernal Monster style after she was slammed through a three foot thick sandstone wall by a practitioner who proceeded to mock Marian in her dreams before teaching her
  • Her arm was torn off by a prominent sidereal (and fellow Infernal Monster practitioner) during a war in Harborhead. It grew back as Cecelyne glass
  • She once helped to settle a domestic dispute between a group of Yozi
  • She makes dolls out of wood and string. She has made some for some of the Yozi
  • She prefers to solve things peacefully, if possible, but she shows no mercy if you cross certain lines (IE: kidnapping her children, hurting her loved ones, calling her cheap)
  • She secretly wants to do a lot of questionable things for good reasons like: free the Yozi, reunite the Realm, Fix the Neverborn, and settle herself as (mostly) absolute ruler of Creation
  • Her anima is a legion of masked soldiers who bear a symbology that crosses A great Tree (her past life) and the symbol of house Cynis. They’re clad in gold and she steps back among the ranks to hide within her anima. She’s also grown fond of using their phantom imagery to support other actions like grand speeches or certain charms.
