Felonious had an unsure look on his face when Hollie opened the door, almost as if he didn’t quite know what to expect of the gathering. His husband, Aaron, had a more friendly, reassuring look and, their daughter, Matra, was barely containing her excitement under the tiger ears of her winter hat.

“Good evening, Hollie. I hope we are not too late,” Fell said.

“Not at all, Dr. Mordecai, please come in out of the cold,” answered Hollie.

Fell nodded and ushered his family inside.
