What does Hope consider the best part of her job?

As a Paladin following a command from the Nightfury?

Well, weirdly enough, Hestus might be her favorite part of the job. He’s a genuinely good person at heart with a desire to help those around him. Travelling with him has been very rewarding physically and spiritually; even if it has led her to places she never truly wanted to go.

As a volunteer firefighter?

Helping people without having to pass judgement. She just likes to keep people safe. She likes to see friends and neighbors and families relieved at the sight of their loved ones making it through tragedy okay.
Though a close second is smashing through walls and doors with a hatchet.

As an apiarist?

Being outside and enjoying the sunshine.

How does Marian feel about Sherwood’s kids?

In Exalted, as far as Marian is concerned, Robin and Amethyst are her children as much as her own children are. As much as she will deny being Sherwood, there are parts of her that feel too strongly for the ties of his past and she has a Conviction Intimacy about the importance of Family.

In Cityverse she thinks of herself more like a cool Aunt. Robin sometimes ends up hanging out at the office while Sherwood finishes work so Marian gets to know her rather well. She’s been known to take care of Robin (and Amethyst too occasionally) when Sherwood’s busy with work related things and treats her and her father like family.

What was Sherwood and Kosus’s relationship like? Knott seems the only reincarnation that nobody is tempted to conflate with his predecessor, so I’m kinda curious.

First: I feel like nobody conflates Knott with Kosus because we’ve all talked to Kosus. Kosus is still around and everyone sees Knott and Kosus as different people. There’s no reason to connect Knott to Kosus since he still shows up on occasion.

In answer to your actual question,

It started as a typical Sherwood relationship with a guy: this guy is a loser because he’s a dude. They started working together begrudgingly, but Sherwood spend a lot of time telling Kosus he was kind of a dick to Sabrina. They became those bros who are pretty much always pushing each others buttons and laughing about it. Little insults and jabs. They were both a bit reckless; Sherwood acted before thinking and nearly killed himself on a few occasions, Kosus did things like insult the Ebon Dragon or touched clearly cursed objects.
They were good, heroic, brave friends but they were kind of dumb.

Like, really dumb

I was going to make a comment about a lot of people being similar but I couldn’t find a “nice” way to phrase it

tbh I think the whole “fae’s have no concept of gender” thing works both ways; like “why would this weird ethereal thing understand gender” and “Faes only understand anatomical definitions”

…..either way they’re taking children as payment so I guess morally how they feel about gender identity doesn’t really matter

Nice input

I see faes being more along the lines of “Can you have kids/impregnate someone?” in the most basic sense of it all. They only care about anatomy if their intent is ill though. Otherwise, I’m sure they’ll humour pronouns if they’re “nicer” fae or if not just call whomever an “It.” because fuck that noise.

They really don’t care what you /say/ you are because they don’t care about /you/ as a person. You’re just a payment/pet/play thing to them and that’s it.

No I get it, that’s legit

Yeah, I think the whole “firstborn son” thing could be excused a relic of old translations and such. Besides, they’re faeries, why settle for a specific “son,” which has a very real chance of not happening, when you can get a guarantee out of “firstborn child”?

See, this is the most likely thing that would occur anyway. Why muddy up a perfectly good contract with something so specific when you can just say “child”
